OMTP Recommendations Papers are at the core of the organisation’s delivery. However, due to the different requirements processes and methodologies used by our Members and Participants, integrating these requirements into real-world business processes isn’t always straightforward. So as well as the recommendations themselves, we’ve also looked at the process by which they are managed and utilised as well.
Launched in late 2006, the OMTP Product Profile process is an online tool that enables network operators, device manufacturers and platform and technology providers to quickly compare and contrast technology offerings. By stating capability and functionality within a formal and rigid framework, vendors and their operator customers can swiftly recognise compliance against OMTP Recommendations. Which as well as reducing cost and complexity from the business side, makes it that much simpler to translate the benefits into a real value-add for the customer.
